Grammy member and Billboard Top 40 Recording Artist, Ricky Rebel, shares the meaning behind his latest single, "Veronica" off of his album of the same name. And I promise, you won't be able to guess it!
Ricky Rebel, formerly of the hot Y2K boyband No Authority, recently released his new solo album "Veronica." He hit the set of the late-night celebrity talk show Obsessed, with Brandon Stewart to promote his new album as well as announce he is joining the cast of the reality show The Getaway Los Angeles on Brandon TV (BTV).
During the show after a fun alter ego-inspired game, Rebel revealed the meaning behind his song "Veronica" on the album of the same name.
"The story of Veronica is I dress like her to seduce straight men. And it works," he playfully admitted.
Host Brandon Stewart asked, "Is this a drag personality that you're going to get into in the future?"
"I don't really consider it to be drag," Ricky continued. "...I'm all male, all man every day; even as Veronica."
Earlier this year in an interview with Galore Magazine, Ricky describes his exploration of sensual and raw themes in this record, blending sexual allure with deep vulnerability. It's as if Prince and Madonna came together to create a musical masterpiece.
And I could not agree more with his description. Watch the music video below and stream on Spotify here. Plus, check out his full appearance on Obsessed on BTV.
