It's hard to picture a world without the incredible influence of the Kardashian family on our TVs every week for over a decade, but that was almost our reality. Despite the enormous success and impact on pop culture, Khloe Kardashian revealed in an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Jan. 25that the show almost never even aired. She explained that the pilot never got picked up until another show on the E! Network fell through.

"We shot a pilot for Ryan Seacrest and it didn't go anywhere," she admitted. "And then a show on E! fell through, so they needed something to fill that dead air time."

"They were like, 'You're getting the show, start filming. You're getting on the air in like two weeks,'" she explained. "We were just so excited asking what to expect and they said, 'Don't get too comfortable here. It's just filler. Just film.'"

I bet whoever said that feels pretty dumb now! However, the youngest Kardashian sister admits that the lack of pressure on the show is probably what made it so great.

"I actually really appreciate them saying that because we were just thinking, 'We're not going to have a Season 2. Let's just film, have fun, and be ourselves. This isn't going anywhere. They've told us we're just filling up dead air time.' And so we had no pressure on ourselves," she candidly shared.

Khloe continues, "We didn't even think about it. We didn't have any way to preconceive or fake anything. We just were who we were on the fly. And I think that's what made the show so good - we weren't thinking. We were being us."

"It wasn't a time to overanalyze and critique. And it turned out that was the best thing to happen because it was relatable and realistic to people," she admitted.

Who would have thought looking back now that the show wouldn't have been a success? Sadly for fans everywhere, the show is on its final season. The hardest part of the show ending for Khloe? No longer seeing the crew.

She sadly explained, "The hardest part is not seeing the crew every day. We've had the same production crew since Season 1 essentially, and since Season 3 it's been the same solid core. They're my extended family at this point, so not seeing hem every day has been hard."

And that's just how fans will feel after the show is over. The family announced back in September that the show will be ending after 14 years and 20 seasons, with the final episodes airing in early 2021.

However, they have announced partnerships with streaming giant Hulu, so we are excited to see what comes of that! Follow us to stay tuned to all the latest Kardashian news.
