Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from husband of seven years, Brandon Blackstock, on June 4.
Fans everywhere are in complete shock over the situation, as almost no one saw this coming. The pair is constantly raving about each other in interviews and on social media, including recently when her husband shared a loving and sweet video message for her birthday in April.
Citing irreconcilable differences, the singer and talk show host, 38, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
The couple who wed in October of 2013 have two children together: daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. Blackstock has another son Seth, 13, and daughter Savannah, 18, from a previous marriage.
Clarkson met the music manager, 43, at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006. They got engaged in 2012, and married a year later.
The family has been social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic at their Montana ranch, where she is also continuing to film her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
"It's a really beautiful ranch and it’s a nice getaway for our family," she said of their retreat. "It's something Brandon and I have dreamed about since we were both kids. This is what we would call home."
