Beyoncé may be heading for Grammy gold with her Cowboy Carter album, despite not making a big splash during award season so far. According to recent reports, the album has been submitted for consideration in a major category at next year’s Grammy Awards.
Last week, the Recording Academy’s screening committee convened to determine which albums and songs will make it onto the final ballot for the upcoming Grammy Awards, set to take place on February 2nd at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beyoncé's country-inspired album has emerged as a strong contender and will reportedly be submitted for the Best Country Album category.
In addition to Beyoncé's potential nomination, Sabrina Carpenter is making waves as the current frontrunner for the highly competitive Best New Artist category. She may face tough competition from rising stars like Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, and Megan Moroney.
This isn’t Beyoncé’s first foray into country music. Back in 2016, her song "Daddy Lessons" from the Lemonade album was overlooked by the Recording Academy in the country category. However, Cowboy Carter has been one of the biggest country albums of the year, giving Beyoncé a much stronger chance this time around. That said, recent award show snubs, including zero nominations at the CMA Awards and striking out at the People’s Choice Country Music Awards, leave fans wondering if she’ll finally get the recognition she deserves.
Either way, the Grammy race is sure to be an exciting one for Queen Bey and her fans. Buckle up!
