Everyone's favorite Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, didn't end for the reason you think.
The show's star, Jamie Lynn Spears, announced on the 14th anniversary of the hit show's premiere that it did NOT end because of her teen pregnancy controversy.
Spears posted a video of the theme song & opening credits on Instagram to celebrate the anniversary with the caption "Are you ready? 14 years later...still a jam," along with the hashtags #itdidNOTendbecauseofpregnancy and #contractwasfinished.
I know, you're just as shocked as we are! It seems a bit...timely...that her contract ended right as she got pregnant at the young age of 16 - a nightmare for Nickelodeon and the show's image.
One Instagram user even commented "Oh wow you didn't quit because you were pregnant, you waited this long tell us."
"Nope," Spears commented back. "I went home to finish high school and was going to pursue movies."
We aren't sure if we totally believe this story, but hey, it makes us feel a little less hostility towards Spears for ending the show with her pregnancy (or so we thought!).
Jamie Lynn now has 2 children with her husband and has been pursuing a music career like her big sister Britney! We wish Spears all the best in the future.
